Non-Emergency: A fault which does not put your or the property in danger and does not require immediate attention (e.g. broken furniture, appliance failure etc.) |
Emergency: A fault which puts either you or the property in danger or makes habitation very uncomfortable (e.g. loss of power, loss of heating, water or gas leaks) |
If you smell gas contact Transco Gas Emergency line immediately on 0800 111 999. Open your windows and doors to let air in, make sure gas appliances are turned off and turn the gas off at the mains if possible. Do not turn lights on or off and avoid using other electrical switches and appliances as this could cause an explosion. Do not smoke, light a match or expose any other naked flame.
Although Atlas Lettings ensure all of its properties have annual Gas Safety checks, it is necessary to be vigilant with regards to carbon monoxide poisoning. Carbon monoxide is an invisible gas so please be aware of the symptoms of poisoning such as headaches, fatigue, dizziness, nausea, stomach pains and chest pains and erratic behaviour. If there is no electrical supply to the property please check the fuses are intact. Contact your electrical supplier if your neighbours are experiencing the same problem. Call Scottish Hydro on 0800 300 999 or Scottish Power on 0845 2727 999.
If you have a water leak in the property please try to turn off the stopcock (supply). You will have been informed of the position of the stopcock at the start of the tenancy. Burst pipes and leaks which threaten to cause damage to you or the property should be reported immediately to our emergency plumber - First Call 1 on 0131 669 1007.
If there is a leak from an adjoining property please contact the occupier and make sure they take action to rectify the leak. In a situation where you cannot contact the occupier or no action is being taken please contact Environmental and Consumer Services on 0131 529 3030 and explain your situation .
